My Personal Fitness Journey

If you have ever been curious as to how I first started my personal fitness journey and how I’ve stuck with it consistently, for over 12 years, I talk about it in this video here:

In the video I mention several different parts of my journey, so I figured I’d share some pics with you and what I was doing and how I was eating during that part of my life..

So this was me at 22, around 160 pounds, which was about my highest. I was eating velveeta shells and cheese, entire pizzas in one sitting and I thought sweating was gross.

Then I started doing ALL of the cardio.. spin class.. running.. the elliptical.. I weighed 140 lbs and I ate junk food, but I just limited my calorie intake. And that worked for the time being because my goal was to be thin.

Then I started circuit training and following Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet and got down to about 125 pounds, but my lowest was 117 when I was doing bikini competitions.

After doing a few shows I was over it. I just wanted to squat and lift weights so I started Crossfit, which I still do competitively, which means I do WAY more than just a class. Currently I lift for about 90 minutes a day, five days a week, work on skills about 30 minutes, a few times a week and do the cardio HIIT/ metcons 5 – 6 times a week for no more than 20 minutes.

And I still follow the main principals of the Eat Clean diet, but I go by feel. If I’m hungry, I eat. I try to base most of my carbs around my workouts and I generally don’t like junk food anymore, but I don’t shy away from peanut butter, cookies or margaritas when I want them.. I enjoy them in moderation.

So I hope you enjoyed hearing and seeing my journey and if there’s anything I can do to help you, please email me here.
