Committing to your health and fitness journey is a lot like marriage. This has been on my mind today since I’m getting married soon. There’s really so many similarities between the two things.
When you say your vows you are committing to working things through with your person, no matter what. When you get married you know things are not going to be perfect, conflict will arise, there will be trouble, but you say “I do” you commit to figuring things out.
For better or for worse, you are there, you are committed, because you care deeply about the other person and your relationship together.
Things are not always going to be perfect and easy. There are going to be times when you don’t eat perfectly, when you do make it to the gym every single day.. there will be times of conflict and hardship.
If you go into a new workout program, diet protocol or working with a coach and you think this is going to be perfect all of the time, you are wrong. Or if you are afraid to even start because you are afraid things won’t be perfect, understand that things WILL get messy, but you can figure it out.
Your fitness journey is a lot like marriage, in that all you really need to do is commit to figuring it out. Make that same commitment to yourself that you did your husband – that when conflict arises, things get messy or when hardship occurs, that you will figure it out.
The good news is that you can have support and back up. I can help you with this. Let me show you the path through a workout plan and a meal plan that’s right for your body, life and goals. I can be there to help pick you back up when you’ve veered off track. I can help you stay accountable through check ins and frequent communication. You don’t have to do this alone.
