I found Kyra years and years ago on SparkPeople and have kind of kept up with her
(I promise it wasn’t stalking!) ever since. I finally reached out to Kyra because I am at a point in my life where I want to physically see and feel all the hard work I put in at the gym and with my diet.

I had been working out at the gym four days a week consistently over the past year and trained for the MS150 bike ride (180 mile bike ride from Houston to Austin) but I wasn’t really seeing the results. I had lost some weight and my legs were decently toned but I couldn’t see any signs of muscle in my stomach, back or arms. I was sick of working my butt of and not being able to see results. I also knew my diet needed some help and I was lacking the motivation to really do something about it. So I joined Commit2Fit.

At first it was difficult because I wasn’t used to being held accountable or having an actual workout and diet plan. I didn’t like the weekly check-ins and I found some of the workouts hard. But, after the first few weeks I started to look forward to the check-ins and I began to love the workouts. Honestly, I would pay just for the workouts because they are so fresh, dynamic and I always feel like I accomplished something when I finish one.

Physically – I didn’t really lose any weight but I slimmed out and can even see my abs on some days. I received a compliment on my arms for the first time ever!

Mentally & Emotionally – I overcame my fear of sticking with a “diet”. I don’t diet and truly don’t even believe in them. I like that you give eating guidelines and not a plan that says eat this, don’t eat that. I surprised myself by being able to stick to my diet plan pretty well, even with weeks and weeks of travel. The nutrition plan gave me an excuse to not eat sweets and also not worry about tracking calories – I hate tracking!

The biggest thing I overcame was my fear of salads. In 32 years of life I had NEVER once eaten a salad. But I began traveling a lot for work and in order to stick with my meal plan while away I had to change something in my diet. I decided to try salads and to my surprise (well not really – I have no idea why I thought I would hate them so much) I loved it. I now aim to have a salad at one meal at least 5 days a week. My husband is so thankful I finally eat salads and all of my life-long friends and family are shocked.

I believe that if it weren’t for the #Commit2Fit program I would have had no incentive to try salads and eat well while traveling, or workout for that matter. I used to use traveling for work as an excuse to eat whatever I want and take some time off of working out. But I knew I had to check in each week on my progress so I stuck with my same diet and workout plan as if I was home and I actually saw some of my best results while traveling!

I also overcame my mental block on progress. I thought my body was where it was supposed to be and that it wouldn’t change. For the first time since starting back at the gym after my second kid I can physically see changes in my body. I also am sleeping better and have more energy since I have cut back on foods that aren’t good for my body (sweets and gluten).

I love the workouts! I like not having to think about what exercises to do every time I am at the gym. I also enjoy that I am not doing the same exact workouts week after week. Bonus – they are customized to fit my life (running, working, traveling) and I can change the workouts as necessary when my schedule calls for it.

I would recommend it to someone that is looking for a change in their appearance and a different approach to training. I would recommend this for someone that doesn’t need their hand held but needs accountability and guidelines on how to improve their health and fitness ability.

You have to be adaptable and accountable. Your fitness journey is your own and it has to be adaptable to your lifestyle or it won’t stick. What works for me may not work for you and that is OK. Hold yourself accountable for your goals and wants. You are the only person in charge of your life and happiness.

This online training program has made such a huge difference in my desire to be healthier and fit. I was stuck in a fitness and diet rut and your program helped me move on to the where I wanted to be but didn’t know how to get to. Thanks for putting #Commit2Fit together.
