With #Commit2Fit online personal fitness and training program with Kyra Williams Fitness, this client learned to get right back on her workout routine and clean eating meal plan even after getting off track.

Kyra and I worked together a few times.  The first time was actually 4 years ago now–and that was the last round of #Commit2Fit I completed in its entirety!  I joined a few more times after that, but for one reason or another, would always fall off.  Looking back, I think a lot of it was Mom being diagnosed and going through her cancer diagnosis and eventually her death.  Kyra were kind enough to let me in partway through a round, right after her passing, but I almost think I just wasn’t ready mentally yet.

The end of last year, I started back whole-heartedly to working out, mainly with Beachbody workouts.  They are good, and I enjoy them, but I always feel like I’m failing at them.  I take extra rest days.  I don’t follow the eating plan 100%.  I always struggle with what workout to pick and which routine to follow, and then once I do pick one, wonder if I’m doing the right one.  I was between plans again when I got Kyra’s email inviting me back as a past member, and I decided to join #Commit2Fit again.

I am so glad I did!  I love, love, love the muscle-building workouts.  They have just the right combination between the heavy weight work and circuits/supersets to satisfy me and my impatience with that rest time between sets.  They change every week, so I don’t feel like I’m getting bored, but just when I do start to get a little niggle of that, the next set of four weeks are ready.  I feel like I’ve made so much progress in my workouts, and am lifting just about the heaviest I ever have, even if my progress pics aren’t really showing it yet.

I absolutely love being part of the #Commit2Fit group.  I love the way everyone supports each other, that we can talk about workouts or anything else.  I love the encouragement from everyone, that we are all at different levels and different abilities.  And I love the check ins, how often the things that are discussed don’t even really have as much to do with working out but just life skills in general.

Along with the physical strength, I feel like my mental strength is in a really, really good spot.  There’s been a few times where I’ve felt like I could easily slip into a bout of depression, but I’ve kept going and worked through it.  Before, it was all too easy to throw in the towel.  Now, I recognize it coming on and try to decide what is best at that time to get me through it.

I had a dream several nights ago that I had a weekend of a bad binge.  I used to do that regularly, that I just wouldn’t care and I’d eat everything and anything I could get my hands on–as recently as just before this round of #Commit2Fit started.  In the dream, I felt again like I had to “start over”, because I “ruined everything” by having the binge.  I couldn’t just go on and get back on track, I had to figure out what program I was going to do (going back to BeachBody, since I “failed” at #Commit2Fit).  In the dream I was stressed about figuring this out, and when to start and what workouts to do.  I woke up and realized I don’t have any of that any more.  I’m not saying I’ll never binge again–we all have times of enjoying food more than we should–but that I don’t stress about what I’m going to do.

Kyra has made it so that it’s OK to miss a workout, or OK to slip from your eating plan.  That life happens, that we need to learn to adapt and move on.  But we don’t make that a habit–the habits are working out regularly and eating healthy, so that when we do slip, it’s easier to get back on track and let it go.  I don’t have the mentality of thinking I failed if I screwed up something in a workout, or ate a little too much, or took a rest day and pushed back a workout a day.  It’s learning to make this a lifestyle instead of an all-or-nothing.

I’m so glad I joined #Commit2Fit this time.  I feel like I’ve had a major “click” in my mindset, so thank you so much!!
