It’s easy to sit here and say, “well when I eat pizza I feel fat and bloated, so I just won’t eat pizza.” But what if it doesn’t just happen with ONLY pizza? What if sometimes you can eat pizza and feel fine, but not others? What if pizza is your absolute favorite food in the world and you feel depressed knowing you will forever miss out on your favorite food ever?
Food sensitivities can be a little trickier than just omitting a food group or an ingredient the rest of your life. Food sensitivities may not just show up as bowel dysfunction and a bloated stomach. I asked on Facebook what foods come to mind when you ask yourself, “When I eat _______, I feel tired, icky and bloated,?” I got over 70 responses and all different answers, from gluten, to fried food, to fast food to pork. Plain ol’ pork.
You may never know what it is that’s making you feel less than stellar until you eliminate some of the major culprits to figure it out. And you never know how healthy you are CAPABLE of feeling until you eliminate some of the major culprits to figure it out. I used to suffer from acne. Yep.. adult acne, and I still do during TOM, but aside from that, it’s GONE. Well I finally linked it to my daily Greek yogurt. Something totally healthy. But it doesn’t work for MY body apparently.
Another client of mine complained of being tired all day, could barely keep her eyes open behind the wheel of her car, and had terrible brain fog that caffeine couldn’t cut. Well, she eliminated a few things and we figured out that gluten caused her to snore and not get full REM sleep. Once she drastically lowered gluten in her daily diet, she now sleeps better and has much more energy.
Food sensitivities show up in so many different fashions. You may have acne, you may bloat, you may not poop regularly, you may have diarrhea, you may have headaches, muscle aches, and a multitude of other symptoms, and this can just lead to bigger, worse issues. In my client’s example, dealing with brain fog and lethargy is frustrating in it’s own right, but then what if she had the goal to lose 30 lbs? Well she’s not going to want to go to the gym, she’s going to run on her adrenals to keep her going, end up craving sugar, jacking up her hormones and have an even harder time losing 30 pounds and may end up GAINING fat in the end.
It may sound extreme, but I’ve watched so many of my clients THRIVE after realizing their food intolerances and sensitivities that I believe this could go down such a spiral.
Figuring out what is hurting your body and holding you back from reaching your goals doesn’t have to be difficult. You don’t have to spend hours at the doctor’s office or your valuable time fighting with insurance to pay for your tests. You don’t have to spend all of that hard earned money paying out of pocket. And you don’t have to go on a diet that makes you have food FOMO.
I’ve done all of the research for you and have narrowed it down to a 14 day elimination diet that you can try on your own time. Choose 14 days out of your life where you can simply omit THREE foods. That’s all I ask for.
The Gut Health Ebook will explain to you, in simple terms, the three main culprits that cause gut dysfunction, what happens in your gut when you eat them, and how to avoid them. Better yet.. not just how to avoid them, but how to replace them with even YUMMIER foods like bacon, avocado and burgers.
