If you are ready to begin a workout program, but aren’t really sure how to begin, you are going to want to read this quick article. Below I have simplified three simple steps to get you going on a new workout routine to help you reach your personal fitness goals.

If you aren’t doing daily workouts now, I would suggest starting by moving your body daily. Don’t create too many rules and don’t set yourself up for failure. Simply set a time each day that you are going to do some form of exercise. It could be riding a bike or walking. It could be following an online yoga video. It could be doing one of my strength training workout routines.

You want to simply schedule the times on your calendar that you want to workout, and make them happen. If you know you want to do your daily workout on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6am, get up and move at those times. First build the habit without added stress.

Your workout program should fit into your life schedule. Your life schedule shouldn’t be based around your workouts if you are going for longevity.

The second step would then be to hone in on what those daily workouts look like. Do you want to build muscle? You need to lift weights. Do you want to lose fat? You need to do cardiovascular conditioning. Do you want to do both? You need to do a combination of both.

Don’t stress – the daily workouts I provide my clients include both! In fact, if you are my online personal training client, I will go over your goals and your daily schedule with you to help design a fitness program specifically tailored to you to help you work your workout routines into your schedule so you can achieve your goals while living your life. We will also consider the equipment you have access to and work around that as well.

The third and final step is to have a program. Having a program already written for you automates things. It’s one less thing for you to think about in your already busy life. Plus, if you have a program, you will be more likely to have follow through. I am a personal trainer of over 10 years and I have my workout program written for me by someone else!

It is my job to make this as easy as possible for you so you can focus on the rest of your life while also achieving your goals.
