I am big on eating high quality protein, and usually high quality to me means animal protein.
Protein is made of amino acids. There are 20 amino acids but there are 9 our bodies cannot make on it’s own which means we have to consume them via food. Animal protein contains all 9 essential amino acids (“essential” because we do not make them) but the only plants that contain all 9 amino acids are soy and quinoa.
If you choose a vegan or plant based protein like brown rice protein or pea protein you will not get all 9 essential amino acids, but Zhou plant based vegan protein is a blend of pea AND rice protein. You are getting all 9 essential amino acids since it is a blend!
Not only that but it tastes absolutely delicious. The chocolate is my favorite but the vanilla is good too. It is also sweetened with stevia and doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary ingredients. I also like that it is free of any soy which has inflammatory compounds and is not good for thyroid health.
