I started working with Kyra on and off around seven years ago, in 2013, after reading her story in Muscle & Fitness Hers (If I remember correctly). After reading her story, I checked out her website and liked that her online personal fitness programs were very affordable.

I thought about working with a trainer before, but always decided against it because I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it past a couple of sessions.

I wanted to treat myself so I chose to upgrade from her basic monthly membership to working with Kyra 1:1 for a personalized clean eating meal plan and daily workouts through #Commit2Fit. I also liked that she held weekly group calls to answer questions. My goal(s) at the time was to lose weight and build lean muscle. in 2017-2018, when I was preparing for my wedding, I worked 1:1 with Kyra through #Commit2Fit.

I wasn’t down with the clean eating meal that Kyra gave me at first. I didn’t agree with some things, but I slowly adjusted to it. The funny thing is, over the years when I wasn’t working with Kyra, I still used elements of the clean eating meal plan she wrote for me.

I really grew to enjoy the daily workouts. I liked that I could do them in my bedroom, which also became my me-time.

I don’t remember exactly how long it took, but I do remember that I went down in size from maybe a 14 or 12 to an 8/10, and that was the smallest I’d been. This of course boosted my confidence. BUT, I had to overcome doubts about my clean eating meal plan as my body started to change.

At first following my clean eating meal plan was tough, but now it’s not hard for me to do at all anymore. It’s become second nature. And I’ve gotten to a place where I can decipher what my body needs. I can feel the difference when I haven’t been eating like I normally do or can detect if I’m dehydrated.

From this most recent session of #Commit2Fit, I feel better about my body. I’m not where I want to be, but I feel better on the inside. I don’t think I lost weight – per say – but my clothes are starting to fit better, and I can see some parts of my body getting tighter, like my lower back. I feel stronger during the daily workouts. My form with push-ups (which I hate to do) has gotten much better.

My three favorite things about this custom personal fitness training program are, increased strength, increased confidence and fat loss. The fat loss doesn’t come quickly.. the numbers on the scale may not even change, but Kyra helps you learn how to make this lasting change, so you do get results.

I’d recommend working with Kyra for several reasons – 1) it’s affordable. Even if you can’t work with Kyra 1:1, I’d recommend the monthly membership for the daily workouts, at least 2) Kyra is easily accessible and easy to work with. She’s not the type of person to belittle you or make you feel like shit if you have a bad week, but she will be honest with you and work with you to help get you back on track.

I also appreciate that she takes into consider the whole context – not just clean eating meal plans and weight loss – but your mental health, gut health, lifestyle, sleeping patterns. She emphasizes that fitness, nutrition and health is a lifelong journey, not a temporary quick fix.

My advice for you would be to just start! Something as small as walking or working out for 20-30 minutes. Find something that works for you so that you’ll keep wanting to do it.
