Today’s blog comes from my client, Lynn.  When she signed up her goal was to feel better in her own skin as well as perform better. She wanted to reduce her 1k time as well as her triathlon times.  She did that plus more.  Read her story here…

I really like the way that Kyra focuses on progress pictures as a key indicator of progress. Even though the scale barely budged I could see the difference in the pictures month over month. When I did a recent comparison of my January photos with my July photos even my son was stunned at the improvement made. It didn’t take a trained eye to see that the nutrition of clean eating recipes and workout plans that I’ve been following as part of online personal fitness training make a difference.

My short term goal was to do a personal best time in my June triathlon. I’m pleased to say that I was able to achieve this short term goal as I completed my race at 49:59 beating my previous personal best of 51:50 on this course. That is almost a 2 minute reduction! That is not the only success to report from this race. I was truly stunned to see my race results posted as I had achieved another goal much sooner than I had believed possible.

My long term goal was to do the run portion of a triathlon in under 15 minutes. I had thought that this would not happen until next season. I was attempting to reduce it to under 16 minutes this year and then drop below 15 minutes next year. I have always struggled with the run portion in my races so assumed that it would take a lot of training to accomplish this longer term goal. The course I raced in June has a trail run (with a steep incline at the very start!) which has always challenged me. The best run time I’ve here had on this course was 17:37 and I totally smashed that with a 14:56 time. This was my fastest run time on ANY course with my previous personal best at 16:21. That is a truly amazing reduction and I can attribute it to the HIIT workouts in my workout plans. These were introduced into my customized workout plan that Kyra designed to help me achieve the goals I set for myself when I joined online personal training.

I still have my long term goal of doing 3 to 5 unassisted pull-ups and I work on them several times a week. I am following Kyra’s advice about ‘getting your goat’ so continue to slip them into my workout plans to help me accomplish this goal. I’m getting stronger each week and can do pull-ups and chin-ups with less assistance than when I started so I can truly say that I’m on the right track. I have every confidence that I will achieve this goal, it’s just a matter of time (and a lot of hard work!).

Finally, I wanted to share one of the most significant advantages of being a member of online personal fitness training. During this round, I hit a bit of a plateau and Kyra was quick to point it out after reviewing the progress photos. She asked for some input on my meal plans and after reviewing them she made some recommendations. I implemented the changes and within a few weeks the transformation continued. Without the personal attention and frequent check-ins that I get as a member of online personal fitness training I could have been at that plateau for months! Thank you Kyra!
