If You Never Want to Re-Gain The Weight, You Must Do This. This is the one and ONLY way to lose weight and keep it off forever. You absolutely must work on your relationship with food while you are following a healthy meal plan if you want to keep the weight off for good.

Improving your relationship with food is vital for fat loss as it encourages mindful eating, reduces emotional eating, and promotes long-term sustainability. And long term is what we are here for, right?!

So let’s talk a bit about why and how we can do this when we work together to ensure you never re-gain the weight..

Making nutrient-dense choices and letting go of guilt fosters healthier habits and mindset, enhancing success in reaching weight loss goals.

Food provides essential nutrients that support bodily functions, immune system, and overall health. A healthy relationship with food helps maintain a balanced diet, reducing the risk of nutritional deficiencies and chronic diseases.

Too much food via binging can create imbalance here causing health issues. Too little food via restriction can also cause health issues as well.

Ideally, you want to be able to eat the right amount (for you) of the good stuff and sprinkle in some treats in moderation. In practice, I encourage my clients to enjoy a small sweet treat like chocolate once or twice a day, a full meal out where they don’t track anything or pay attention to the food quality – they just eat for joy.

Food is deeply tied with mood and emotions.

Cultivating a positive relationship with food involves enjoying meals without guilt or anxiety, which contributes to better emotional well-being and mental health.

This allows you to enjoy the foods you love, in moderation, so you never feel restricted. When your goal is fat loss, yo-yo-ing back and forth between over doing it and then restricting isn’t going to help you.

Moderation is the key to longevity so if you want to do this long term, you have to learn to practice moderation.

Eating a balanced diet fuels your body with the energy needed for daily activities, exercise, and cognitive functions.

A healthy relationship with food ensures you nourish your body effectively, leading to improved energy levels and performance.

This ensures you can do the things you love and are important to you. The less energy you direct on being food-obsessed gives you more bandwidth to expend on what’s truly important to you.

Yes, my clients are mostly eating things like bigass salads with chicken and blue cheese and tomatoes and carrots and quinoa and steak with potatoes and broccoli. But my clients are also encouraged to go out and have the burger and split some fries.

Another important reason for nurturing a positive relationship with food is its impact on social connections and cultural experiences.

Sharing meals with loved ones fosters bonds and creates memories. Embracing different cuisines and culinary traditions enhances cultural appreciation and diversity, enriching your life beyond just nutrition.

You never want to look back and wish you’d eaten something while traveling or a friend shared. Or have your strained relationship negative affect someone else in your life. I recommend my clients show their kids that it’s good to eat the rainbow of produce, high quality meats and fats and explain why these nutrients serve us. But also remind them that a a few cookies and some ice cream have their place as well.
