Three years ago I saw an acquaintance posting about her daily workouts and progress on social media and became interested. I had been gaining weight from a health condition, depression, poor eating habits and lack of exercise. I wanted to see if it would “work” for me.
I began with the basic membership to KyraWilliamsFitness, then three months later I got a meal plan and five months after that I joined my first round of #Commit2Fit.
I had some difficult life circumstances that worsened my depression again, and then I was pregnant. I tried to continue with my daily workouts, but I was too exhausted and uncomfortable, so I quit. And didn’t start back up until my child was a year old, when I was ready to pull myself out the hole and get in shape!
My goals were to lose weight and improve my muscle tone/strength so I felt better about how I looked, and had more energy.
I loved the daily workouts as I did them from home with some adjustable weights and bands. I did well for awhile. I followed the meal plan for a few months, loosely. I wasn’t seeing much progress, but that wasn’t because of Kyra’s coaching, and more about my ability to be dedicated and real with myself.

I took a break during my pregnancy and after, joined the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. I saw some changes for the first time in years. I felt I was finally ready to make some changes. So I joined #Commit2Fit again.
Since then I have consistently been getting 3-4 workouts In each week. The daily workouts are challenging, but make me want to increase my weights to gain strength. They aren’t too long and I can do almost everything from my home with minimal equipment. And learning a lot about myself. I am making changes in my eating, getting rid of unhealthy and emotional eating. And feeling better about myself each day.
I have gotten a lot stronger. I gained knowledge and insight into my habits (good and bad) and learned why I was sabotaging my progress and ways to stop. I make less excuses now and make time in my schedule for workouts and to prepare healthy meals.
I still have a long way to go, but I have overcome some of my mental blocks that kept me in my old habits. I know that what I was doing wasn’t working and I needed to change my mindset if I wanted it to work.

I really enjoy the meal plan as it spells out what you need, and offers suggestions of meals, but doesn’t restrict you to certain foods.
I also enjoyed the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. It wasn’t complicated meals, they were easy to follow and I often revert back to those plans. The daily workouts are great too, good amount of time, but challenged your body.
I think I benefited most from learning about habits and mindset from #Commit2Fit though, as well as the community that is formed with that program. It’s nice to be supported by others during your journey and they are all so positive and motivating!!
Kyra is supportive and does her best to work with you to create a plan that is going to work for you/your lifestyle. It isn’t cookie cutter, because no one’s life is the the same. She teaches you the tools you need to be successful, not only in your health and fitness, but also your mental health and organizing other parts of your life. When all of those things are in order, staying active and healthy is so much easier. I would say she isn’t judgemental, but does know how to give you a push when you need to be challenged to overcome an obstacle getting in your way. I’m so glad I started this journey again and look forward to what is to come!

My advice for someone new is to just start somewhere. If you cant exercise and work on your eating at the same time, then start with one (for me it was food) and create some good habits, and then add in the other.
And most importantly be patient. You may not see immediate results, but if you are learning healthy habits, your results will come. Give yourself grace, but work hard to be consistent at the same time.
