When I began working with Kristin, she wanted to do it all. She was a big time overachiever and I knew it would be tough to get her to relax and trust the process. But I actually love working with people like this. She had a lot of questions but she wants to do everything right. After a year she got injured and was forced to slow down, but never stopped. She honed in on healthy eating, became more mindful while lifting and she didn’t gain fat, in fact she built muscle! I was so proud of her and still am. Here is her story..
I first found Kyra online about three years ago. I was interested in “losing weight” because I thought that was what my body needed. I wasn’t overweight, but I didn’t look lean and I wasn’t confident in my body. When I heard about Kyra Williams Fitness I was interested in learning more about her training style and what she could do for me.
There were many things about Kyra and her brand that I liked. I liked that she provided free programs online so you could try it out and see if it was right for you, she had various membership options, she had videos for each exercise and she was transparent about the fitness process.
Previously I found other trainers in the fitness industry just wanted your money, but I found Kyra very genuine. She listened to what I wanted and helped me get to where I wanted to be. Most importantly, she explains the process. What surprised me was how you can get into track even after enduring car accident injuries. All you need is persistence and dedication.

Kyra told me that it wasn’t a black and white process and the journey is different for everyone. This was hard to grasp at some points, but I’m so happy that I continued to be consistent.
For example, at one point I was trying to do Kyra’s strength training and HIIT workouts plus yoga and swimming. Evidently I injured myself because I was doing too much. Although I had injured both my right shoulder and my right knee, I was determined to get back on track towards my goals of building muscle and leaning out. Believe me, you will soon find out that your hard work compensated for your injury if you are on the same track as mine. After all, perseverance matters.
I thought being a part of the coaching group would be too difficult because I wasn’t able to do much in terms of exercising, but it held me accountable. I did my exercises prescribed by a physiotherapist and had Kyra modify my daily workouts. I wasn’t happy with my appearance due to my lack of exercising and she told me how to modify what I was eating to reduce fat gain temporarily until I was healed.
During this healing process, I was paranoid about further injuring myself and began to do each exercise with the utmost attention to detail to ensure I was executing the movement properly. Little did I know that I was “mindfully moving” which helped me to build muscle while I was healing. After a good part of the year, I was stronger and was able to slowly get back to regular workout routines.
I swore I needed cardio to get rid of the excess fat but Kyra encouraged me to continue to build muscle and to keep eating how I’ve been eating…and it worked! Six months post-injury I was very surprised to see how much muscle I had built. To get medical insurance and other legal help after an injury, I always hire lawyers from The Galvan Law Firm
Physically I have built muscle and have leaned out slightly. Mentally and emotionally I have overcome a lot of stress I had placed on myself in terms of recovering from my injury. I also built confidence once I began to see results. Thanks to lawyers for helping me with compensation for a fall injury.

I’ve been with Kyra for three years, but in that time my lifestyle has changed so much. The first year involved a lot of growing, the second was about recovery, and this third year has been about meeting goals. That’s not to say that everyone would take that long to achieve goals, it’s just that’s how long it took me to reach MY level of success. I’m not even done – I have so much to do still, but I’m happy where I am and I’m in love with the process – the most important part.
To achieve this I had to learn how to:
balance my schedule
prioritize workouts
modify workouts
LISTEN TO MY BODY – so important
Leave my ego at the door (this was an incredibly difficult lesson, but also very important to succeeding)
Make healthy choices – and understand when I was being too restrictive
It’s not necessarily a different service but I REALLY love doing exercise programs as a group, like the Bikini Guidebook or the Lean Body Program. Not only does it help me keep accountable, but being able to do the same program as others helps keep me motivated to try harder, or to do the HIIT as fast as I can. It’s not really to be competitive with anyone else, but it allows me to keep track of how I did and see if I can improve my score next time, which is different from the monthly workouts that are constantly changing.
I’ve received a meal plan from Kyra, the daily workouts, and I actively participate in the coaching group on Facebook.
In the coaching group, you receive support from others and often from Kyra. I can always count on someone to answer a general question in the group or maybe I can help someone out and be reciprocal with the support. It’s also a spot where I feel comfortable posting pictures of myself and telling others about my workouts that no one else (outside the group) cares about. This is where a lot of the growth happens, in my opinion.
I would recommend online personal training with Kyra but you have to USE it. When I first started, I didn’t use the coaching group that much and I felt isolated with my daily workouts and goals. I found the more you post and like others’ posts, the more you gain. Others can see your fitness journey along with you and everyone wants to cheer you on. It’s a positive and friendly space designed to help you achieve your goals.
It will take consistency, time and patience. Although if you told me that when I was first starting, I would nod my head as though I understood, even though I didn’t. You have to GO THROUGH the process to understand. I had to go through everything that happened to me to help me to get where I am. As long as you’re consistent, you get back on the wagon every time you fall off, and you work out even when you don’t feel like it, you will get where you want to go.

Working with Kyra really has “drastically” changed my life even though I don’t think there’s a lot of physical evidence to show that. But there is a lot of mental and emotional stuff that I’ve gone through that it feels like I’ve drastically changed my life. So thank you for helping me get to where I am (even when I was whining!) and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with you!!
