Learning how to eat is more important than simply following a meal plan or being told what to eat for long term results.
A few weeks ago I posted the question on social media, “Would you rather be told what to eat and never think about it? Or would you rather learn how to eat so you can do it on your own?”
Most people said that they would rather be told what to eat at first but then be taught how to eat, ultimately, to help them selves.
I understand because at first it can feel really overwhelming.
But my favorite thing to do as a coach is teach people how to eat and train to reach their goals, and why certain things work better than others.
When you understand how your body, food and exercise works, it makes it a lot easier to adhere to.
I’m not big on relying on motivation. It’s so easy to get distracted and forget about your goals when you’re dealing with the day-to-day. But I believe when we have a solid grasp on what to do, how it works and why we should do it, we are more apt to have follow through.
For example, if I had a coach that told me to run 2 miles and do 500 air squats I probably wouldn’t do it. I would wonder why. But if she told me that this was what was going to make my legs stronger, and explained the process of how, then I would follow through.
Plus, when you understand how things work you can go into real life scenarios and be prepared.
Let’s say I told you that for breakfast everyday to eat two eggs, spinach and a half cup of oatmeal. What would you do if you went on vacation and you didn’t have access to those foods? Would you know what to eat?
You need the understanding of why I’m having you eat that. That eggs are there for protein and fat. That spinach is there for micro nutrients and fiber. And oatmeal is there for your carbs to give you energy and keep you satiated. It would also help if you knew what the protein, fat, fiber and carbs were doing for you and your goals too.
As a coach my most important job is to teach you what to do, why we’re doing it and how it works so that you can take it out into the real world.
So if you want to start understanding how things work my #Commit2Fit program will be amazing for you.
For 12 weeks, not only will I help you with your meal plan and workout plan, I will explain the how and why we are doing these things. You will feel intrinsically motivated and know how to handle you handle yourself in real life situations.
We will begin the next 12 week program on April 4th And I will be having this group at 30 women. So if you are interested please go to commit2fitcoaching.com to learn more or email me and let’s chat!
