You may have seen some promotions for my 12 week 1:1 coaching program, #Commit2Fit, lately and I want to take a moment to clarify some things and really communicate with you what you can expect from this program. Watch this or keep reading below..
Before I dive into the program, I wanna share with you where I come from as a personal trainer.
I’ve been a trainer for nearly 11 years at this point. When I began I wrote programs like the Bikini Guidebook and Booty Workout Program. I created recipes for massive amounts of fat loss with loads of chicken breast and asparagus in the Bikini Cookbook and talked endlessly about losing weight and getting abs.
I don’t regret that. I don’t think there’s any shame at all in wanted abs or a better booty.. in fact, I still work toward those goals myself and help other women with those goals too. But now I understand that life, health and physique change is about more than just doing HIIT workouts and counting calories.
So now I’m at this weird place in my career where I know from my own personal experiences, my coaching experience and my education that our physique is dependent upon our health and our health is dependent on so much more than lifting weights and eating protein.
I understand that without certain credentials I can’t prescribe supplements or herbs for you; I can’t put you on a specific meal plan; I can’t send you to get a blood panel.
But what I can do is create awareness in your life, your habits and your biofeedback (what you experience inside your own body) to help you seek out those things.
So let’s say I have a client who comes to me and we get her getting adequate protein, following a clean eating meal plan with loads of veggies and whole foods; we get her lifting weights four times a week; doing conditioning a few times; and doing some parasympathetic activities like daily gratitude journaling and 5k steps a day in nature with the sunlight, and she still can’t lose belly fat we can look elsewhere. Then we come to find out she’s only sleeping five hours a night! Well that’s a huge issue as that can disrupt the endocrine system, create issues with the thyroid and decrease her ability to lose fat.
Once we have that awareness we can begin to work on her habits to get her in bed earlier. Or get her on some supplements that will help her fall asleep and stay asleep, then BOOM! Her waist decreases 2 inches in a month!
I actually have a client right now that loves to run, but for the last month or so every time she set out, about 5-10 minutes in she would have horrible stomach pain and eventually diarrhea. This was so frustrating for her because it keeps her confined to her treadmill. After chatting, she revealed that she doesn’t have regular bowel movements aside from the runners’ runs, so we looked deeper at her food journal and decided to try eliminating dairy. Sure enough.. she stopped having diarrhea, she started pooping regularly and she’s not bloated anymore.
So what I offer really doesn’t begin and end with your workouts. Sure, I will write your daily workouts and I can help you with form and technique, and the accountability to get them done, but what I do is so much more than that.
Throughout the 12 weeks of the #Commit2Fit program we spend time talking about your goals and creating awareness about those and why they’re important to you; we talk about nutrition and what carbs, fat and protein provide for your body along with micronutrients; we talk about your hydration levels, sleep and other habits that aid in your body’s recovery; we talk about overeating and how to control that; we talk about exercise and fitness; we talk about sleep in depth; we talk about your habits as a whole and how we can eliminate poor ones, create good ones and modify others to help you achieve your goals.
It’s so much more than your food journals and workouts. I understand my scope of expertise what I can and can’t do, but if I know something that could possibly help a client, I will share that. But I’m also there to support and help bring awareness to things you may not see or don’t want to see on your own.
If you want to work with me in this capacity, I promise that your life will change. We begin on April 5th, and I would love to have you.
