With summer upon us, I know you are getting excited about getting into your bikini! Of course I always stress the importance of following a clean eating meal plan 365, lifting weights and doing regular HIIT cardio workouts. But when the day is fast approaching that you are gonna be on vaca or have an event, you may want to take an extra step to feel your most confident in a bikini.
Here are my TOP FIVE quick tips on how to get bikini ready:
- Get Snookified. In other words, get a tan! Whether you tan in a booth, spray tan or use a bronzing lotion a tan will help you look thinner and hide flaws. That cellulite on the backs of your legs will vanish with a coat of bronzer. I simply mix a little store bought self tanner with my regular lotion as this blends everything to look natural.
- Don’t do extra workout routines. Strength training actually breaks down your muscle fibers and the rebuilding process is actually how muscle is built, but inflammation does occur for this to happen. (Have you ever noticed on days your quads are REALLY sore and beat up, they may appear somewhat swollen?) Stick to your normal workout routines.. adding in extra days leading up to your event may actually make you appear puffier than usual.
- Eat Your Greens. Asparagus in particular. If you are chugging water like crazy this will help you beat bloat, but you already know that. So eat asparagus a couple of times a day leading up to your event to help “push” the water through your system. Asparagus is a natural diuretic.
- Don’t Overdo Starchy Carbs. Of course you’ll still need your oats at breakfast and your sweet potato mid-day to energize you for your HIIT workouts. Just be mindful of how much potato salad you have at your cookouts or eating quick sandwiches for lunch everyday.
- Say Cheese!! If you hold your shoulders back, hold your chin high and smile like you are proud of that body you take such great care of, that’s all people will notice!
