From Personal Trainer to Nutritional Therapy Practitioner: Root Cause Solutions for Women’s Health and Fat Loss.
I have some exciting news to share—I’ve officially graduated as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP)! 🎓
For the past 15 years, I’ve been working as a personal trainer and online coach, helping women lift weights, build strength, lose fat, and feel more confident in their bodies. Over that time, I’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of women, and I’ve seen firsthand the transformation that comes from consistent training and smart nutrition.
But here’s the thing I also noticed: sometimes workouts, clean eating and macros just weren’t enough.
I’d see women working incredibly hard—tracking their food, sticking to workouts, doing “everything right”—and still struggling to see results. Many were exhausted, frustrated, and confused. And I knew there had to be more to the story.
That’s what inspired me to dive deeper into Nutritional Therapy. I wanted to understand what was really going on inside the body—what hidden roadblocks were preventing women from feeling and looking amazing, even when their effort was all-in.
Now, as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I have the tools to uncover those root causes and create solutions that last.
(Also, if you prefer listen to this as a podcast here.)
What a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Does
An NTP looks beyond surface-level symptoms and addresses the foundations of health—the areas that determine how your body functions on a daily basis. By supporting these systems, your body can finally stop “fighting itself” and start thriving.
The foundations I focus on to get to root cause solutions for women’s health and fat loss are:
1. Digestion
You’re not what you eat—you’re what you absorb. If digestion isn’t working properly, your body can’t break down and use the nutrients from your food. This can lead to bloating, nutrient deficiencies, low energy, and even stalled fat loss.
2. Blood Sugar Regulation
When your blood sugar is constantly spiking and crashing, you feel tired, moody, and hungry all the time. More importantly, your body is in fat-storing mode instead of fat-burning mode. Balancing blood sugar is key for energy, cravings, hormones, and fat loss.
3. Stress Mitigation
Stress isn’t just mental—it’s deeply physical. When stress is unmanaged, cortisol rises, sleep suffers, and fat loss slows down. I help clients identify hidden stressors and build resilience so the body isn’t stuck in survival mode.
4. Sleep
Sleep is where the magic happens—it’s when your body recovers, repairs, and regulates hormones. Without it, you can eat perfectly and train consistently and still feel stuck. Quality sleep sets the stage for sustainable fat loss and energy.
5. Nutrition & Training
Of course, none of this replaces the importance of solid nutrition and smart training. But instead of guessing or following extreme plans, I teach women how to fuel properly for fat loss, strength, and long-term health—without restriction or burnout.
Why This Matters for Female Fat Loss
Here’s the truth: fat loss is not just about calories in and calories out. That model is far too simple for most women.
If your digestion is off, you’re not absorbing the nutrients that fuel fat burning.
If your blood sugar is unstable, cravings and energy crashes keep you stuck in the cycle of overeating.
If stress is unmanaged, your body holds on to fat for survival.
If sleep is poor, your hormones and metabolism pay the price.
This is why so many women feel like they’re doing everything right but still not seeing results. It’s not a lack of discipline—it’s that the foundations need support.
By combining my 15 years of personal training experience with my new expertise as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I can now help women tackle both sides of the equation: the workouts and nutrition that change your body composition, plus the root cause imbalances that make fat loss sustainable.
My Mission Moving Forward
My mission has always been to help women feel amazing—mentally, physically, and emotionally. Becoming an NTP allows me to guide clients more holistically, addressing the deeper issues that stand in the way of fat loss, energy, and confidence.
Whether your goal is to lose fat, gain strength, have more energy for your family, or finally feel good in your own skin, this work matters.
Because when the body is supported at the root level, everything else gets easier.
