Good circulation is vital for overall health and wellness. Not only does it help deliver oxygen and nutrients to your organs and tissues, but it also plays a crucial role in removing waste and toxins from your body. Here are 5 tips from a personal fitness trainer to help you improve your circulation.

As a fitness trainer with credentials recognized by the ASFA (American Sports and Fitness Association), I’ve seen firsthand how circulation can affect everything from energy levels to muscle recovery. If you want to optimize your circulation, try incorporating these five tips into your daily routines:

Move more.

Exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve circulation. Aim for at least 30 minutes of activity each day. That may include going for a brisk walk or doing one of my strength training workouts at home or at the gym.

Stay hydrated.

Dehydration can cause your blood to thicken, making it harder to circulate throughout your body. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day, especially during and after your daily workouts. You can also look into treatments like IV therapy for added hydration.

Stretch regularly.

Stretching can help improve circulation by increasing blood flow to your muscles and joints. Try incorporating some gentle stretches into your daily routine like cat-cows if you are at home or Jefferson Curls for a standing variation.

Eat a healthy diet.
