I have had the pleasure of training and becoming friends with a lovely lady named Teri.  We met a few months back and she was looking to get REALLY fit.  She is a working mother so doesn’t always have the most time.  She had been following a daily workout plan and making clean eating recipes and before, but really was looking to take it to the next level.  Here’s her story…

I found Kyra Williams Fitness from blog hopping back in March. I was looking high and low for the right workout plans to look like all these fit, flat stomached girls. Why was I working so hard, spending 8-10 hours in the gym a week and still looking chunky? What was I doing wrong? I spent hours looking, reading and hoping something was going to work. Well, I started reading Kyra’s blog and I spent an hour or so reading through all her posts. Funny, knowledgeable, used to be heavy, and she is setting goals like a bikini competition and half marathons? This girl is the real deal. I started corresponding with her right away. She was always quick to answer my questions, and give guidance. She was my first real friend in fitness.

 

I started following her workout plans in April, and by July… well the pictures tell the story. She changed my life. Yes, I had to control what I put in my mouth. Yes, I had to get my butt to the gym everyday and actually do the workout plans she wrote for me. But I did it with my own personal cheerleader rooting for me in the back ground the whole time.

 

The workout plans were pretty hardcore. I am a bootcamp instructor and have been involved in fitness most of my life. I have always known my way around a gym and have done lots of intense training. Kyra’s workout plans were a great mixture of cardio moves with hardcore weight lifting, which I loved! I loved mostly because it taught me that I could CHANGE the way my body looked by lifting heavy, and not just shrink it from all that boring ol’ cardio I used to do. I had several people come up to me in the middle of my circuits and ask what “sort” of workout I was doing. I would laugh and let them in on the secret… “My Kyra Williams Fitness workout plans.”

They cut my gym time in half. Literally. I was doing almost 2 hours most days of the week before I hooked up with Kyra. She taught me to workout smarter, not longer. My progress pics do the talking, IT WORKS!!

 

The coaching was AMAZING. Seriously. People might think I am a bit obsessive when I get on the subject of Kyra. I couldn’t believe how willing she was to help me! Answer any little tiny dumb question.  She was always encouraging and set the bar high for me. She didn’t put up with bull crap from me or others. I heard her say to someone one time that we all have excuses….. but none are good enough. And she was right. There is never an excuse to not take the best care of our bodies, it is the only one we are going to get. The other biggest thing for me, as an AVID gym goer is that Kyra fits the part. She lifts heavy, she runs fast, she has done a competition. I am so sick of these in the house trainers who are training people who aren’t fit and in shape. Period. You don’t fit the part, don’t talk to me– end of story.

 

I loved that she had email, facebook and her blog. So if I wasn’t actually talking to her through a message, I still felt like I was in contact with her. I also loved the (message board) group. I got actively involved in that and have met some great girls that I actually correspond with on my own. I live in Idaho, and the girls I chit chat it up with are in Texas, California, North Carolina, and Washington. Networking. It has helped keep me in line and pushing myself harder, farther and faster.

 

If I had one thing to tell you– I’d say, “she changed my life, and you can’t afford to not let her change yours.” I am now in intense preparation for my first figure competition in 4 months. Me, the girl who was always the pretty face, with a spare tire around her mid section.

[Now that I’m] training for a figure competition is ABSOLUTELY due to working with Kyra. I never would have even thought about it. She taught me, that real girls, who have struggled with their weight all their lives can make a DECISION to change who they are, and they can become that girl that they always looked at and wanted to be. She has taught me that I can do hard things and with diligence, dedication, and the decision to make it happen… it CAN be done.

 

I would never be here with out MY Kyra, and I will be thankful to her forever.
